Data Engineer / 6 months / The Hague / Start ASAP

Description:

As a Data Engineer you will be the guardian of our state of the art data lake that provides Fit-for-purpose data sets used by clients Finance and Bank division. Ever-increasing availability of internal and external information opens up opportunities for new integral data solutions for self-service Business Information, automated analysis solutions and standardised reporting. But the data flow has to be reliable and clean.

Working closely with the Business Information analysts of the new Finance Data Team, the Data Engineer is responsible for the creation, development and management of the 'data pipelines' and 'cloud environment's required to facilitate the flow of clean data from multiple sources to and from the end-users at Finance and Bank (FN).

The successful candidate will also play an important role in evolution of the new Finance Data Team and CI/CD processes.

Although you will be active as a data engineer, your core task is to define the overall project objectives, road map, and methods. In doing so you inspire and guide others towards a clear goal, displaying the credibility and determination to stand your ground in your area of technology expertise.

Environment:

My client is operating in a dynamic environment. The organisation is subjected to farreaching implemented regulatory changes, e.g. Solvency II, as well as upcoming changes, e.g. IFRS 9/17. These changes increase complexity within the Finance organisation

  • In order to address the increasing complexity, FN has the ambition to significantly strengthen its IT support
  • On the short term, FN requests IT support for two key initiatives: - IFRS 17: Solution design and implementation of IFRS 17 - Finance Transformation: Setup of the new FN IT architecture and strengthening existing IT capabilities

Skills:

Programmer with experience with data integration tools (ETL), GUI tools, BI tools, script languages (Java, Python, PowerShell, Bash) and cloud environments (minimally Azure, ideally also AWS) Key activity:
